One of my goals for 2011 was to go to and speak at more conferences. I think I’m doing pretty well so far, and on May 3rd will be moderating the panel at geekSessions 2.1, the subject of which is “Data Scalability – SQL or NoSQL?.” More info about the event is here.
I also recently spoke at a couple places.
“Scalable Data Storage Getting You Down? To The Cloud!” – a 3 hour talk given by me and some of my colleagues from SimpleGeo at the 2011 Web 2.0 Expo. Slides are here. CAVEAT: as the description for the slides says, the deck is a bit disconnected due to the length of the talk and the way it was delivered (3 hours total, 30 minute break in the middle, multiple presenters).
“The Real-Time Location Revolution: What’s next for LBS?” – a 10 minute keynote delivered by me and Matt Galligan at the 2011 Where 2.0 Conference. Video is here.
I’m eagerly awaiting a response to a few proposals I’ve submitted elsewhere; hopefully more news soon. Also waiting for Strange Loop 2011 details to be released, will attend that stellar conference whether speaking or not.
